Engaged since 2007
Act for Africa International, Inc. (AFAI) is a non-profit organization created in 2007 to help rural communities in Sub-Saharan Africa gain access to primary healthcare and education services. Our initial focus was to provide health centers in rural areas with medical equipment and accessories to improve the work of health workers and the well-being of the communities.
Since 2015, AFAI has concentrated its efforts on a sector that has an impact on practically all of the Sustainable Developent Goals (SDGs). We have been developing agribusiness opportunities for farmers, women cooperatives and the youth to help them drive economic activities, improving food security, and promoting sustainability.
We aim to positively and constructively impact the lives of rural communities in Sub-Saharan Africa through the introduction of modern technologies in farming.
We develop and promote sustainable employment opportunities to empower women and the youth to embrace farming as means to lift themselves out of poverty and live a dignified life.
We focus our efforts on providing capacity building and technical resources to rural communities to achieve self-sufficiency through sustainable agriculture.
